History of SSS Subirats development
Subirats (SSS) is a family business founded by Jaume and Maria Subirats in 1926 in a small town in the province of Barcelona (Spain). It was here that they sold home-grown produce from their garden. A few decades later, the family store gradually began to expand its product range, and in 1944 the pork trade became the primary goal of their business.
The three sons later continued the family business by opening their butcher shops. However, almost 30 years after opening the first store, they decided to develop a company named SSS after the merger. At the present stage of its development, the company has its factories, two farms in La Garrotxa and el Alt Empordà and shops in Spain specializing in traditional Spanish meat delicacies.
Jamon is the most famous national product of cured pork. Subirats produce it in various forms, from whole legs to small packages with ultra-thin cuts of meat. SSS Subirats is very demanding on its product and always works according to quality standards. The manufacturer supplies products to local stores, supermarkets, restaurants, and imports them to various EU countries. The company controls the quality and safety of food and has IFS, BRC, SAE, and Welfare AENOR certificates for animal protection.
More than 55 years of experience, the region’s unique climate, modern equipment, and innovative production technologies make SSS Subirats products a sales leader in the world market!
